Arachne - Lesson On Human Behavior

A lesson on human behavior that this myth teaches is that bragging is no good because it will only result to trouble. On lines 46-61, Arachne kept claiming that she was better than Athene and challenged Athene to a weaving competition that the old woman turned into the goddess herself for Arachne's challenge. Then later on in the story, because of Arachne's tapestry of gods and goddess's bad deeds as an insult to Athene, the goddess broke her tapestry, slapped her, and turned her into a spider. This shows that arrogant will always be punished.

     We all disagreed about " How Abby Sunderland went out to the sea for an adventure"  We disagreed because we think that Abby Sunderland's parents  made a wrong decision of ALLOWING their daughter to go sailing by herself at age 16. They should've made someone follow just to supervise her while she sails around the world. She's 16, for crying out loud! Teenagers always make drastic decisions. They don't even think about the risks and dangers on life-risking voyages. Just because Zac, her older brother, accomplished going around the world at 17, doesn't mean they should risk Abby's life too. So therefore our opinions about Abby's voyage was that her parents were being irresponsible about letting her go alone.
